- The Goin family Collection is a miscellaneous assortment of documents representing four members of this family. Material for Reverend Edward F. Goin include church programs, a letter to his son, a congratulatory telegram from Adam Clayton Powell Sr., and a news clipping (1894-1957).
- Included are letters from Edwin F. Blair, an attorney and classmate of Edward H. Goin, recommending him for a position and referring to funds he provided for Viola Palmer's daughters' college education. Also letters recommending Goin for the quality of his work, an article and obituary.
- Material for Marie C. Goin includes personal letters, a clipping re her employment with the State Welfare Board of Greensboro, North Carolina, and a letter referencing her work in New Haven. Viola Goin Palmer is represented by letters from her to Edwin Blair requesting assistance in financing her daughters' education, and Blair's note to Goin advising that he had sent her the money.
