Summary
  • Disc 1 (ca. 32 min.). Danny Uziel discusses his childhood and background in Israel; his first experiences with folk dance; the folk dance groups with which he became involved and the people with whom he worked, including Gurit Kadman, Yoav Ashriel and Yonaton Karmon.
  • Disc 2 (ca. 32 min.). Uziel speaks about creating his first dance; working with Fred Berk at the 92nd Street Y; leaving and returning to his work at the Y; how he remains current with Israeli dance; history of the Daliah [Daliyah] and his memories of attending in various years.
  • Disc 3 (ca. 32 min.). Uziel recounts his experiences at Daliah 1951; the creation of a new folk dance festival in 1988; the prolific spread of Israeli dances around the world; his favorite choreographers; the Israeli Dance Institute; combining of the magazines Nirkoda and Rokdim to become an international publication.
  • Disc 4 (ca. 23 min.). Uziel speaks about the maintaining of Jewish and Israeli identity through folk dance; teaching children; folk dance as a mirror of society; the large repertory of dances that he knows and teaches; fitting repertory to suit the various groups that he teaches.
