Summary

· To Abraham Hayward, essayist and translator : 1 autograph letter signed ; 18 Dec 1869 (MISC 3498), asking him to use his influence to have reviewed the recently published diary of "the widow of [his] wife's uncle," Maria Georgina Shirreff Grey. The work was published by Smith, Elder & Co. as: Journal of a visit to Egypt, Constantinople, the Crimea, Greece, etc., in the suite of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
