| Biography |
Elizabeth Ogilvy Benger, English historian and novelist. Before she began to write her biographies of historical royal women such as Anne Boleyn and and Mary, Queen of Scots, Benger published several literary works, including the poem The Abolition of the Slave Trade (1809). She counted many literary figures among her social circle, including: Jane and Anna Maria Porter, Elizabeth Hamilton, John Aikin, Anna Laetitia Barbauld, Lucy Aikin, Elizabeth Inchbald, and Joanna Baillie. |
