  • [Welcome worthy guests! Mr. Sigmund Faynman and Dayna Faynman in the Windsor Theatre's "Sanctification of the Name." A wonderful surprise! These two shining stars will produce no more light; it will be the last of the rich illumination of talent and genius that will take place in Windsor Theatre. Positively the last performance! Come and sanctify the new moon! Friday and Saturday. Joseph Latayner's chef d'oeuvre, arranged by Helman, with Faynman as La Roche and Faynman as the Queen. Music by Mr. Sendler. "The Sanctification of the Name" is now a household term. It is a national drama and a beautiful chapter of Jewish history which depicts the Jewish woman's spirit, strength, energy, with such lively color, it is]
  • [as if we are in that time and place in which the events are actually happening. "The Sanctification of the Name" makes us proud of our nation and is the most interesting and spiritual epoch of our eternal martyred life. Every role is a study in man's character. The roles have been well studied and well practiced, the actors have understoodd their roles somuch so they speak and think like the historical figures they play. The performances of the two artists Sigmund Faynman as the villain La Roche andDayna Faynman as the poor, unlucky Queen Helena is a wonderful treat for the audience. The role of the villain La Roche is not an easy one to play: he is a dissolute soul, a dark character, evil and idiotic! And the actor must somehow unite all these features. But with this role played by Faynman, one can better understand the other characters. The darker the shadow, the better one can see the contrasting light. The darker the devil, the easier it is to recognize the honest and gentle people. In the role of the broken queen who is blamed for a crime to which she cannot even respond, and abandoned and forgotten Dayna Faynman can reach her greatest heights and demonstrate the talent of which she is made. The other roles are played with great freshness. In the role of King Sonka, Tomashefsky perfectly duplicates the king's pride; "Our two primadonnas" in the role of Isabella (Karp on Friday and Kalish on Saturday), Mr. Marks as Tobias and Mrs. Tomashefsky as Julia, who allows us to feel her desire to do good.
