  • · To William Lamb, Viscount Melbourne, Queen Victoria's first Prime Minister and the husband of Lady Caroline Lamb : 1 third person note : 30 Mar 1838 (MISC 0966), regarding plans to see a music concert.
  • · Miscellaneous scrapbook memorabilia : 12 pieces : ca. 1846-1896 (MISC 0968), including poetry and drawings by her friends Hannah Meredith Brown and the Rev. William Harness ; copied poems from famous authors in the hand of Burdett-Coutts ; a photographic portrait of her dog F'an ; an engraved illustrated invitation to "Melle. Rosa Bonheur's Great Picture of the Horse Fair" for the German Gallery, 168 Bond Street. Also included are two programs from the coronation of George V and Mary, and a note from the former owner, Rajah Brooke, explaining that he attended the ceremony with the widower of Burdett-Coutts in 1911.

  • Angela Georgina Burdett-Coutts (1814-1906), English philanthropist. The daughter of Sir Francis Burdett, she became one of the most famous heiresses in the 1830's and counted many literary people among her friends. She was the model for Adriana in Disraeli's novel Endymion, and Charles Dickens served as a guide to her investment in charitable causes.

The daughter of Sir Francis Burdett, she became one of the most famous heiresses in the 1830's and counted many literary people among her friends.
