Biography
The Cracraft Electronic Orchestra claimed to be the first orchestra made entirely of electrically-controlled instruments. The orchestra was organized in the late 1930's by Tom Adrian Cracraft with technical assistance from Benjamin F. Meissner, and featured ten instruments, each with its own speaker. The orchestra received attention from radio broadcasts over the NBC radio network in 1939 and 1940.
