Summary
Political caricatures from the reign of George III, including satires on the French Revolution, the Prince of Wales's affair with Mrs. Fitzherbert, an eruption of Vesuvius, & the trial of Charlotte Corday. Pol.II.83 is a parody of Benjamin West's painting of the Death of Wolfe. Other individuals depicted include Edmund Burke, Princess Caroline, Charles François Dumouriez, Charles James Fox, the Duke of York, Admiral Howe, Lord Lansdowne, Lord Dundas, William Pitt, Joseph Priestley & Richard Brinsley Sheridan.
