Note
  • Manuscript, on paper, in cursive Sephardic script. Translation of the introduction to Tikkunei Zohar, with glosses which mention Rabbi Natan (probably Nathan of Gaza). The manuscript was apparently produced within the Dönmeh community in Salonica in the 18th or 19th century. A Dönmeh origin is supported by handwriting, paper and orthography. However, the Hebrew words are, for the most part, written correctly, exhibiting few of the phonetic corruptions that are especially common in late Dönmeh manuscripts. This suggests the possibility of a relatively early (late 18th- or early 19th-century) date. Very few Dönmeh writings are extant, and most are liturgical, making this dense text effectively unique. Incomplete; lacks p. 1-16.
