  • · Autograph penmanship exercises signed : [ca. 1791?] : (B'ANA 0690) : 1 sheet, apparantly from a copy book, in her juvenile hand; "Try to write well and quickly" repeated 15 times on recto; an exercise using the word "Emolument" on the verso. Mounted between pp. 32-33 in v. I of the grangerized copy of Nichol's Byron.
  • · To the Rev. D'Ewes Coke, barrister agent to the Duke of Rutland : 1 autograph letter signed : no date [watermark = 1819] : (B'ANA 0480) : responding to an invitation to see his daughters' dance recital.
  • · To a Miss Sedley : 1 autograph letter : no date [ca. 1812?] : (B'ANA 0194) : referring to a reading of "Childe Harold."
  • · To an unknown recipient : 1 autograph letter (fragment) signed "M. A. Musters" : [no date] : (B'ANA 0689) : a small cut scrap, mentioning money and the Bank of England. Mounted opposite p. 31 in v. 1 of the grangerized copy of Nichol's Byron.

  • Mary Ann Chaworth, distant relative of Lord Byron, and object of his adolescent affection. She married John Musters, of Colwick, in 1805. Chaworth is the subject of at least five of Byron's early poems, including "Hills of Annesley," and there are allusions to his love story in Childe Harold and in "The Dream" (1816).
