  • According to Brunet, these 4 parts with title were issued with the Abus du mariage, 1641, thus probably completing the 5 parts (part 5 sometimes counted as two) credited to some copies containing 120 portraits.
  • Title, half-title, and text in French and Dutch.
  • Illustrations: full-page engraved plate following title-page, "Le bouquet des bergeres": 72 engraved, oval portraits on 36 l. numbered 1-25, and 5 l. unnumbered; full-page plate, "Berger tirant les nome des villes," with verses on verso; 2 pages of music. The plates, all unsigned, are attributed to Crispijn van de Passe, the younger. The Passe, or Pas, family produced much work well known in England and France as well as Holland.

  • Binding, by The French Binders, 1919, of red crushed levant morocco, gilt. Sides within two frames of two-line fillets, the inner in eight compartments, each separated by a small circle, and each containing a scroll and pointillé design enlarged for those at the corners. Double with white paper within a border of small tools and three fillets with a lower border of very small tools. Back tooled and lettered. With edges gilt.
