  • Image depicts groups of Egyptian men wearing pantaloons and turbans gathered at the banks of the Nile river near palm trees. In the foreground the men sit on the ground conversing and smoking pipes. Behind them a large group dances wildly with spears. A line of small boats is depicted at the river's edge. Two men in Western attire (tailcoats and long trousers) sit on the ground observing, while two Egyptian men stand near them.
  • Lower left: [h.] Vernst et J.B. Mourier delte.
  • Upper right: pl. 25. Possibly a plate from Voyage pittoresque de la Syrie, de la Phoénicie, de la Palestine, et de la Basse Égypte, gravé sur les dessins de Cassas.
