  • Engraving after set design by Ludovico Burnacini. Image depicts an outdoor scene within a courtyard: a chariot led by two lions carries a king and queen figure. Following the chariot is an army of men dressed in armor and carrying spears. In the foreground are a group of prisioners bound by their wrists behind their back; some are chained at their ankles as well.
  • The columns bordering the courtyard contain demon-like figures in the middle and are topped with cherubs. A single cupid figure flies through the sky.
  • Marked, upper right: N. III n. 27.

  • Il pomo d'oro was an opera by Cesti in a prologue and five acts, to a libretto by Sbarra; it was performed following the marriage of Leopold I in 1667, at the Viennese court with a large orchestra and 24 sets by Burnacini.
