- Summary
- In the ethnically mixed, working-class neighborhood of Central Williamsburg in Brooklyn, N.Y., women play an essential role in maintaining the community. Faced with cutbacks of city services, demolition of housing, and racial tension, they become activists, transcending their differences. The camera follows the women of Williamsburg speaking out to preserve a local police precinct, addressing racial divisions, and forming a neighborhood coalition.
