  • Count D'Orsay was married to Lady Harriet Gardiner in 1827. Their marriage was unhappy, and they became estranged in 1831 when Lady Harriet returned to her relatives in Ireland. This correspondence relates to proposals for legally dividing thier financial assets (see A.P.W. Malcomson's Pursuit of the heiress, new ed., p. 178-185).

Tipperary, and Lady Harriet D'Orsay's paternal uncle. -- Thomas Farrer, of Lincoln's Inn Fileds, was a solicitor. -- Luke Norman, Esq., of Dublin, was a solicitor; he was named as one of the executors of Lord Blessington's will.

John Hely Hutchinson (later Earl of Donoughmore) was a whig MP for co. Tipperary, and Lady Harriet D'Orsay's paternal uncle. -- Thomas Farrer, of Lincoln's Inn Fileds, was a solicitor. -- Luke Norman, Esq., of Dublin, was a solicitor; he was named as one of the executors of Lord Blessington's will.
