Summary
Winchester Fitch (1867-1963) was a prominent lawyer and world-renowned genealogist. The papers contain his correspondence as president of the Fitch Family Association. Topics include the Association's planning for the 150th Anniversary of the successful launch of John Fitch's steamboat in 1785, and the writing and publishing of the the two-volume set of Fitch Family Genealogy (1930). In addition, there are letters from Fitch family members asking genealogical questions about their branch of the Fitch family and some research files on the Fitch and allied families.
