Letters include descriptions of ports visited, business conditions in the ports, and life on board the ship. Ports include Machias and Wicasset, Maine; Boston; New York City; New Orleans; Pensacola, Florida; Waccamaw River and Bricksville, South Carolina; and ports in Cuba; Haiti; Bermuda; the Bahamas; British Guiana, Madeira, Port Mahon, and Malaga, Spain; and Genoa and Palermo, Italy.
