- This diary was kept by a person with the surname Dubois (given name is not known) between October 6, 1840 and June 24, 1843. Entries describe Dubois' journey from Catskill, New York to New York City, thence by water to Mobile and Portland, Alabama; Tallapoosa, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; Wheeling, West Virginia; Ashtabula, Ohio; Buffalo, Niagara, Rochester, Schenectady, and Troy, New York; and back to Catskill. Diary includes expense account and miscellaneous prose and poetry.
