Sally Silvers speaks with Gia Kourlas about the origins of her early choreography; the dance scene she entered into and what her contribution was; her work Swaps ego say so and the issues it raised for her regarding moving through space; other significant early works; experimenting with multi-media; her interest in making smaller scale works; working with John Zorn; sources of inspiration including Jean Luc Godard and Gertrude Stein; Silver's work Pandora's Cake stain and her ideas about traditional versus experimental work and conservative versus radical work as well as the combining of abstract and theatrical elements; her piece HUSHHUSH performed at the Carnival Festival at Dance Theatre Workshop; her changing approach to her own creative process; more on the effect on her of working with Yvonne Rainer.
