Summary

Twenty-two letters by merchants of the Dutch West India Company; the first twenty are by Willem Bosman, and the last two by David van Nyendael and Jan Snoek. A small part of letter 18 and a substantial portion of letter 19 deals with the slave-trade; also some scattered notices about this subject elsewhere in the text.

Translation of: Nauwkeurige beschryving van de Guinese Goud- Tand- en Slave-kust. Utrecht, 1704.
Unlike the organization in the original edition in Dutch, text not divided into three parts and work bibliographically not divided into two sections. However, half title to part 2 of the text is still retained and reads: A description of the Gold Coast of Guinea. To which is added a just representation of the slave trade, and a general account of the Slave Coast, the country of Ardra: Together with a circular tour made by the author in the year 1698. to Rio de Gabon, Cabo-Lopez di Gonsalvez, the islands of St. Tome and Annaboa; and his return to the Gold Coast. Part II. (p. 217).
Title page has double rule frame border.
