- This collection contains two documents created by Reverend John Sharpe (1680-1713). The first is a proposal for the advancement of religion in New York and other parts of America, presented to the Society for Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts (1713). The second item is a catalogue of books that Sharpe gave to lay the foundation of a public library in New York City, dated May 13, 1715.
