1 print : lithograph, hand-colored; 24 x 20 cm.
Summary
Full-length figure of a woman in ethnic costume. She steps out on her left foot, holding out her apron with both hands. Behind her at left is a less detailed group of women, apparently performing a circle dance; three more women stand at background right. In the distance is a gently sloping mountain peak.

  • Wallachia is a historical and geographical region, now part of Romania.
  • Probably a plate from Fancy ball dress, published in London by W. Spooner, 1832. The artist was Léon Mansion (the pseudonym of André Léon Larue, 1785-ca. 1834), a French printmaker and painter. The prints depicted national costumes, mainly from European countries.
