- Summary
- Three-quarter-length representation of the ballerina Fanny Elssler, costumed in a pink dress trimmed with black lace, in the role of Florinda in Jean Coralli's ballet Le diable boiteux (first performed in 1836). With castanets in her hands, she strikes a pose from the cachucha, her most famous dance solo.

- This print is based on a full-length image by the French artist Achille Devéria. Elssler's pose is based on Jean Auguste Barre's bronze statuette, made in 1837, of her performance of the cachucha. She was lauded for the fire and sensuality she brought to this dance, and inspired many artists to depict its various moments.
