  • Bellerofonte, a "drama musicale" with music by Francesco Sacrati and libretto by Vincenzo Nolfi, was presented in Venice in 1642. Its story was based on the Greek myth of the hero Bellerophon, who killed the monster called the Chimera. Giacomo Torelli, an Italian stage designer, engineer, and architect, introduced the use of an enclosed room in this production.
