Engravings.
Note
  • Caption title.
  • At upper right: Nos. 547 et 548.
  • Includes four lines of verses, sung by the ensemble while dancing.
Biography (note)
  • La famille du porteur d'eau, a vaudeville in one act written by Francis, Dartois, and Gabriel, was first performed at the Théâtre des Variétés, Paris, in 1824.
  • This print was published by the firm of Martinet as part of the series Petite galerie dramatique. The publisher assigned it two numbers rather than the usual one, probably because it is approximately twice as wide as most of the prints in the series, with a landscape rather than portrait orientation on the page.
