Details
- Description
- 2 prints : etching, stipple engraving, hand-colored; 26 x 69 cm.
- Summary
- Depictions of men and women, and a little girl, wearing fashions of the late eighteenth century. Some are dancing in couples or striking dance-like positions; others appear to be conversing or observing the dancers. At the right of one print, a woman swoons in her partner's arms. The exaggeration of the participants' facial features and bodily postures suggest the artist's satirical intent.
