- Plate from J.J. Grandville's Les fleurs animées (first published ca. 1847), which personified various flowers as beautiful young women in fanciful costumes. The costume and headdress of Fleur de grenadier or pomegranate are ornamented with the bright red flowers and oblong leaves of the pomegranate plant.
