- According to the British Museum, which holds a copy of this print, this image was published as part of the Galerie des peintres flamands, hollandais et allemands. Jean Baptiste Pierre Le Brun, the "Monsieur Le Brun" of this print's caption, directed the execution of the Galerie, which contained reproductions of Flemish, Dutch, and German paintings, engraved by various artists chiefly between 1777 and 1790. Originally issued in parts, the prints were published in three volumes beginning in 1792. The British Museum identifies the artist as the Dutch painter Richard Brakenburgh; alternate forms of his name appear as Brakenberg, Brakenburg, or Reiner Brakenbourg.
