Summary
Dudley Woodbridge was a lawyer in Norwich, Connecticut. By 1778, he had become a merchant, along with his brother Samuel, dealing primarily in rum and other foodstuffs. The correspondence consists of letters to Dudley and Samuel Woodbridge from various business associates located in New York and New England, with many referencing the Revolutionary War and the British blockade. Also included are three letters between members of the Backus family.
