Summary
Includes 146 recipes of which 124 are culinary, sixteen are medicinal, and five are for household cleansers. Recipes cover how to make cowslip wine, ginger beer, walnut catsup, force meat balls, a cheap pea soup from Mr. Soyer, bottled fruit from Mrs. Westbrook, college puddings, syllabubs, gateau de pomme, and almond icing as well as pomatum, cordial stomachic, pills for rheumatic pains, an elixir for the worms, and cleansers for furnitue, mahogany, silver and marble. With the twentieth century bookplate of "John L. Marks, 'Chippendale,' Earlswood."
