Summary
Kim Boran speaks about how she began dancing, her early training in the female role, family background, teachers Dok Por and others. She discusses which dances she learned, how dancers were selected by teachers, changes in teaching methods between her youth and the present day. She speaks about her experience under the Khmer Rouge, the deaths of her family members, the invasion by Vietnamese troops. She describes how she settled in Siem Reap, how she became a food vendor, and how she eventually opened a dance school; the school's funding problems, and the current state of her health and work. Interview held at Boran's home.
