Summary
The tape opens with brief footage of the exterior of Em Theay's house. During the interview Em Theay and Hun Pen look at old photographs and she identifies dancers in them. She speaks about Sar, a teacher of the White Monkey role; about her training in singing and dancing; working as a servant in the Royal Palace; being evacuated under the Khmer Rouge. She shows the books of songs she saved through the Khmer Rouge period. She sings several songs. She talks about how she learned to sing, and how she teaches songs; the loss of songs from the past; musical scores; male and female singers. She discusses various songs, dance gestures that are in danger of being forgotten, and ballets that should be revived.
