- Summary
- Former dancer and teacher Yit Sarin speaks about how he began studying Lokhon Khol theater; being invited to live at the Royal Palace as a child; dancing the white monkey role; starting to teach after the Khmer Rouge era; his students; and the origins of Lokhon Khol theater. Yit Sarin displays and speaks about masks from Lokhon Khol theater; he places masks on child students while offering prayers to the spirit of dance. Students of Wat Svay Andet demonstrate Lokhon Khol theater: monkey gestures, "Hanuman and his soldiers," giant gestures; "the army of monkeys," and "combat between monkeys and giants." Yit Sarin speaks to students about how to wear the masks.
