Summary
  • Disc 1 (approximately one hour and two minutes), Tina Ramirez speaks with Robert Johnson about her decision to retire from Ballet Hispanico of New York; the creation of the three-part work Nightclub with choreography by Graciela Daniele, Alexandre Magno and Serge Trujillo; performing in Daniele's work Stages; supporters of the company; reminiscences of the company in the 1970s; her principal satisfactions as Artistic Director of the company; costuming Tears for Violetta.
  • Disc 2 (approximately one hour and five minutes). Tina Ramirez speaks with Robert Johnson about finding choreographers for Ballet Hispanico of New York; her interest in the company's role as an ambassador for Hispanic culture; dancing in the Broadway production of Copper and Brass; Eduardo Vilaro succeeding her as Artistic Director of the company; early educational programs; Vicente Nebrada's work Batucada fantastica; choreographer Pedro Ruiz and works that he created for the company; various leading dancers in the company's history including Mari Mackenzie; the integrating of new dancers into the company; working with Anne Reinking; studying with Principe Gitano in Madrid, as well as with Luisa and Olga Pericet.
