Patricia Neary speaks with John Gruen about her background and how she became a member of New York City Ballet; some of her roles; her reasons for leaving New York City Ballet; her relationship with Balanchine; Robert Scevers and her brief time with the Harkness Ballet including her impression of Rebekah Harkness; evaluating her own dancing; leaving the Harkness Ballet and returning to work with Balanchine, including an anecdote about Balanchine and Rebekah Harkness; dancing and staging Balanchine's works at the Geneva Ballet [at the Grand Théâtre de Genève]; her time with the Stuttgart Ballet [Stuttgarter Ballett] including her impression of John Cranko [ends abruptly but continues on streaming file 2].
