Biography
Louise Hunter was an operatic soprano. Originally from Middletown, Ohio, she made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1923 and stayed with the company through 1927. That year she signed a contract with Arthur Hammerstein to appear in light opera and appeared on Broadway in the title role of the musical Golden Dawn. She married publisher Henry Haven Windsor Jr. on January 22, 1928. After an appendicitis operation in February 1928, she decided to give up singing to be with her husband in Chicago.
