- Claire Parrish was a playwright who wrote the farce Maid in the Ozarks. Her letters date from 1945 to 1946 and are addressed to Gertrude Mitsdarffer and Mary and signed "Mable." Subjects of the letters include the ongoing success of Maid in the Ozarks, Parrish's health problems, her social life in Hollywood, California, and her opinions on Franklin Delano Roosevelt and contemporary politics.
