- Summary
- In a 7 minute interview Norman Rose, an actor, film narrator and radio announcer who knew Bobby Clark from the show entitled "All men are alike" (which starred Clark and in which Rose) had a small part, remembers the famous comedian as a serious, thrifty, aloof but courteous man. For the remaining 43 minutes, probably recorded at the Museum of the City of New York, Bill Lipton reads columns and excerpts from newspaper articles pertaining to Bobby Clark. The sources are: an article in New York World-Telegram dated 11/30/1936 by Douglas Gilbert, a staff writer; an article in Voice of Broadway "Down memory lane! (with Bobby Clark)" dated 1936 by Louis Sobol, the columnist of the paper; an article without a title dated 1936 from Herald Tribune; an article in New York World-Telegram "Laughter off stage" dated 11/17, 1939 by H. Allen Smith, a journalist and humorist; various excerpts from obituaries dated 1960 following Clark's death; biographical facts from an unidentified Playbill; a contract for Clark and his partner Paul McCullough dated1905; and Clark's will.
