- Includes North Carolina west to the Blue Ridge mountains, and parts of Virginia and South Carolina. Native American tribes mentioned include the Meherrin, Catawba, and Tuscarora.
- A dotted line across the state at 35.5 degrees latitude is probably the Granville Line; the area north of this line, and possibly the soundings, are based on the surveys of William Churton.
- Cartouche in the lower right corner contains a dedication to George III, surmounted by the Hanoverian crest "To His most Excellent Majesty George the IIId. King of Great Britain, &c. &c. &c. This Map is most humbly dedicated by His Majesty's most humble obedient & dutiful subject. John Collet."
- The cartouche also contains symbols of the new world including an Indian, an alligator and a wildcat.
