Philip Sterling, the writer and public relations executive who worked for the Columbia Broadcasting System for many years, interviews Lottie Tyler, the oldest niece of Bert Williams. Tyler shares her memories about her uncle Bert [Williams], one of the black-featured pre-eminent entertainers of the Vaudeville era. She talks about Williams's life and family history, his friends, family, his Bahamian origins, his funeral (March 4, 1922), and about his personal and professional achievements.
