Marian Horosko, as host, introduces her guest José Limón, artistic director of American Dance Theatre; José Limón speaks with Marian Horosko about the origins and early history of American modern dance; the vocabulary of modern dance and its role in facilitating individual expression; the artistic maturity of modern dance as a major factor in enabling the collaboration represented by American Dance Theatre; the humanistic principles underlying his choreography; his hopes for the future of American Dance Theatre.

The discrepency in dates in the two records arises from the use of the year the broadcast was recorded (1964) for the latter record, and the use of the actual broadcast date (January 5, 1965) for this record, respectively.
