Marian Horosko, as host, introduces her guests Lucia Sciorsci and Phillip Rice, members of the Metropolitan Opera Ballet; Sciorsci and Rice speak with Horosko about the current labor dispute between the dancers and the Metropolitan Opera, in particular their working conditions and reasons they are not satisfactory; the overall poor working conditions for dancers in the United States as compared with those in Europe; the cancellation of the summer season; the joint representation of the dancers and AGMA [American Guild of Musical Artists]; more on working conditions and studios and the changes they are requesting; Rudolf Bing's remarks regarding the discontinuation of the Ballet Evenings program; their satisfaction with their representation by AGMA; more on the changes they are requesting including with respect to guest artists; possible outcomes of the dispute.
