Marian Horosko, as host, introduces her guest Emily Moore, founder of the bi-monthly newsletter Ethnic News; Moore speaks with Horosko about the origins of Ethnic News; her particular interest in Slavic and Balkan folk dancing; the widespread appeal of Eastern European folk dancing; folk dancing groups in the New York area; the editor Ellen Kenwood and how she has expanded the scope of the newsletter; the wide range of folk music played on the radio; the increasing difficulty of finding authentic folk dancing in its respective country of origin; films showing folk dancing; folk dancing classes and venues for folk dancing in New York; the kinds of advertisements found in the newsletter; some of the reasons Moore and others have such a keen interest in foreign cultures.
