Elaine Stritch was an actress and singer in theatre, film and television whose show business career spanned nearly seventy years. She was especially well-known for her leading roles in plays by Edward Albee, William Inge, Neil Simon and Tennessee Williams; musicals by Noel Coward and Stephen Sondheim; as well as for her own solo shows. The Elaine Stritch papers date from 1925 to 2012 (bulk dates 1943-2011), and contain correspondence, photographs, and promotional materials that chronicle her personal life and performance career.
