- Al Aronowitz was an American rock journalist who was a staff writer for The Saturday Evening Post. His letters to his friend David Solomon, an editor at Playboy, date from 1963 to 1965 and discuss his personal life and stories he was working on. The letters recount his experience attending a Russian film awards ceremony with actors Innokenty Smoktunovsky and Tatiana Samoilova, and contain passing references to Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Gregory Corso, Ray Charles, Pete Hamill, Allen Ginsberg, and others.
