Summary
Donald Oenslager was an American stage designer and professor at the Yale School of Drama. In 1940, after visiting Bali, Indonesia, he produced a short volume titled "Theatre of Bali," containing his observations about Balinese theater and dance. This collection consists of Oenslager's drafts, letters from friends and colleagues thanking him for the book, copies of the plates included in the book, a clipping of an article about Balinese theater that Oenslager wrote for the New York Times Magazine, photographic postcards depicting Balinese dance and costume, and copies of the completed volume.
