Summary
Jim Carroll was an American poet, diarist, and rock musician associated with the downtown arts scene in New York City. This collection contains four documents: a 1987 letter from Carroll to Gerald Howard, Carroll's editor at Penguin Books, about changes to the proofs of Forced Entries: The Downtown Diaries, 1971-1973; a completed 1973 biographical questionnaire sent to Carroll by Grossman Publishers; a postcard to Barbara Preminger at Grossman, written in 1974 while Carroll was in Bolinas, California; and a 1981 agreement between Viking Penguin and Carroll regarding the publication of a paperback edition of Living at the Movies.
