- J. Warren Brown of Maine and New York City was a mining broker and mining company executive. He was notably affiliated with Colorado silver mining companies such as the Consolidated Republican Mt. Mining Company, the Dunderberg Mining Company, and the Cascade Mining Company. The J. Warren Brown papers, 1855-1906, consist of miscellaneous letters, documents and printed matter relating to his mining interests. Letters and documents, 1855-1906, include brief correspondence, legal documents, memoranda, invoices, and receipts. A few items pertain to personal finances or other business matters. Printed materials comprise mining company prospectuses, 1872-1882, for silver and gold mines in California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, and Mexico; and reference materials, 1868-1883, on mining.
