- Summary
- Collection consists primarily of film stills and publicity photographs related to the film productions of director Oscar Micheaux, from the 1930s and 1948, as well as portraits of Micheaux, his second wife actress/producer Alice B. Russell, some unidentified women, and members of Micheaux's studio cast and crew. Micheaux's early and personal life are not depicted.
- Of note is a group portrait showing Micheaux with the cast and crew of his motion picture production company (ca. 1938); a printing plate, possibly of actress Ethyl Moses (ca. 1930s); and items related to the film "The Betrayal" (1948), consisting of lobby cards, a film still, reproductions of movie posters, a group portrait of the cast, and views of a line of movie goers waiting to see the film at the Banco Theater in Brooklyn, New York.
