Grant Hyde Code was a writer, lecturer, and founder of the Brooklyn Museum Dance Center. His collection holds approximately 500 dance publicity negatives dating from 1937 to 1938, as well a small selection of glass plate negatives and prints.

  • In 2013, the Brooklyn Museum received this collection from Laurence McGilvery, a rare book dealer. McGilvery acquired the materials while cleaning out a storage unit, and sent the collection to the Museum since the materials were labeled with the institution's name. The Brooklyn Museum donated the collection to the library because the majority of the images do not depict events hosted at the Museum.
